Fr. Chris Fallon
Fr Chris Fallon, our parish priest since January 2022, was brought up in Lancashire and trained for the priesthood at Upholland College, near Wigan, and Ushaw College, near Durham. Ordained deacon in 1977 and priest in 1978, he served in parishes in Bootle, Netherton, Liverpool City Centre, Gateacre, Toxteth and Aigburth and also led the Archdiocesan Department for Pastoral Formation from 1985 to 1997. Fr Chris then spent ten years on the staff at Ushaw College whilst keeping a diocesan base in the Leigh deanery and completed a research project on priesthood in the Liverpool Archdiocese which was published under the title ‘Who Do We Think We Are? How Priests Understand Themselves Today.’ In 2010 he was became parish priest of St Teresa’s, Norris Green, and later also of Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs, Croxteth and has been Director of the Permanent Diaconate for the Archdiocese since 2016. Fr Chris is a Canon of the Metropolitan Cathedral, a governor of Liverpool Hope University and Maricourt High School and a trustee of the Northern Diaconal Formation Partnership and the charity Feeding Liverpool. His other interests include playing golf and the piano in both of which he still feels he has great potential.
